Let it finish the job itself
This is the advanced mode (called Cowork): you give a goal, it does the work. You need: the Claude desktop app + a paid plan.
One idea first
- Regular chat: you ask, it answers — you do the clicking.
- Cowork: you say “organize this folder for me” — it does the clicking, then hands you the result.
Follow along (first time, the safe way)
- Create a test folder with a few unimportant files (never practice on folders that matter).
- Open the desktop app → Cowork, and let it connect to that test folder (it asks for permission first).
- Say:
Organize this folder: sort the files into categories, rename them clearly, and give me a summary of what you changed.
- It shows you its plan first — you review, approve, then it works.
What you’ll see
It works step by step on its own; the folder ends up tidy, with a report.
Quick warnings (important)
- Always start with a test folder. When it wants to delete or move important things, read before you approve.
- Treat it like a new assistant: small tasks first, bigger ones as trust grows.
